Privacy notice
This notice explains how personal data is processed when you visit this website or contact us.
1. Controller and contact
Thomas M. Gerbeth
Stachegasse 25, 1120 Vienna, Austria
Privacy enquiries: jakob@gerbeth.at
Contact telephone: +43 660 9431110
2. Website delivery and hosting
The website is hosted by 4future digital (CCC.at), proprietor Andrea Illsinger, Kaiserbrunnstraße 34, 3021 Pressbaum, Austria. The server processes connection data needed to deliver the website, including your IP address, request time and address, browser, operating system and, where available, the referring page. The purposes are delivery, stability, troubleshooting and security. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in operating a secure information service.
The hosting provider processes technical data as part of providing webspace and server services. Server logs are retained only as long as required for operation, troubleshooting, security analysis or legal obligations. The provider does not publish one fixed retention period for all logs. See 4future digital’s privacy notice ↗.
3. Contact form, email and telephone
When you contact us, we process the contact details and message you supply to answer your enquiry and, where applicable, prepare a collaboration. The form requires your name, email address and message; the subject is optional.
The form prepares the message only on your device. Selecting “Open in email app” passes the recipient, subject and message to your configured email application. Your name and reply email address are included in the message body. The website does not send the form entries to its web server or save them in a database. The email is sent only when you send it from your email app; your email provider’s privacy terms also apply.
Once you send the email, access is limited to those handling the enquiry and the email providers used for transmission and storage. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual enquiries and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for other correspondence, reflecting our legitimate interest in responding to incoming enquiries.
Correspondence is deleted when it is no longer needed, unless statutory retention obligations or legitimate interests in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims require further retention. The period depends on the content and progress of the enquiry.
4. Local form function
Form validation takes place in your browser. The form does not create session cookies, server-side verification records or counters, and does not use an external CAPTCHA service. “Copy message” copies the prepared details to your device’s clipboard. Any email draft you create or message you send is managed by your email application or email provider.
5. Settings on your device
The website saves your chosen language, display mode and font size in Local Storage (“jg-language” and “jg-preferences”). A reading position may be retained in Session Storage when you switch languages. A local “jg-header-signature-seen” flag also remembers that you have visited the website, so the name animation does not play again on later visits. This entry contains only a flag, not a visitor identifier. The website does not transmit these settings to an analytics service. They are used only to apply your choices. Local settings remain until changed or website data is deleted; session storage ends with the relevant browser session. Display mode and font size can be reset in Settings. Processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; device storage serves your selected functions under section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021.
This website does not use advertising or analytics trackers. Font files are hosted locally.
6. Video, audio and read-aloud
Some concert videos are provided by www.gerbeth.at. Video files are not automatically preloaded. Starting playback connects to that server and transfers necessary connection data, such as your IP address, to provide the playback you requested (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). See the provider’s privacy notice ↗.
Read-aloud starts only when you request it. It uses your browser’s speech feature and prefers a local voice. Depending on your device and voice, the browser may transmit the text being read to its speech service, whose privacy terms also apply. This website does not pass completed form fields to the read-aloud function. You can end playback with “Stop”.
7. External links, tickets and WhatsApp
Ticket providers, press coverage and WhatsApp are included as ordinary links. Displaying these links does not establish a connection to the provider. Opening one takes you away from this website; the respective provider’s privacy terms then apply. WhatsApp Ireland Limited and associated companies may process usage and communication data, including outside the EEA. See WhatsApp’s privacy policy ↗. You can contact us by telephone or email instead.
8. Your rights
Subject to the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. Please use the contact details above. This website does not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling.
If you suspect a data protection violation, you may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. In Austria: Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, dsb@dsb.gv.at, complaint information ↗.
